Rebecca Tucker

Rebecca Tucker was born and raised in Dayton, Tennessee. Most of her professional career was spent in Gatlinburg and Sweetwater, Tennessee where she was a classroom teacher and elementary school principal. Her graduate degrees are from UTK in education. Following her retirement from public school, she served as president of Omega Graduate School, a social research institute in Dayton, Tennessee.

After retiring as a teacher and school administrator, Rebecca began writing feature articles for The Herald News in historic Dayton. She collected 69 of her best articles for Hear Their Stories. Always one to see the glass half full, she encouraged optimism among her readers by writing about those who had a positive impact on the community. She received a Tennessee Press Award for her work.

The mother of two and grandmother of three recently moved to Knoxville where she enjoys exercising with friends at the Y, reading with A Novel Bunch book club, and volunteering at City Hills Church.
