AGT Monthly Meeting for December 2025 

The Authors Guild of Tennessee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, December 4, 2025, for a luncheon held at Mimi’s Café in Turkey Creek, starting at noon.

The following members were present:

Bill Barbour, Gary Butler, Gayle Curtin, Laura Derr, John Forcum, Leoma Gilley, Jim Hartsell, Wes Hibbert, David Johnston, Jerry Morton, David Page, Kathy Parr, Cheryl Peyton, Nancy Pressley, Ron Pressley, Nolen Rollins, Chuck Roseberry, Brenda Sellers, Art Stewart, Becky Tucker, Victoria Winifred, and Curt Young.

Guests: Jean Kranzle, Suzanne Hartsell, Jim Peyton, Sandy Hibbert, Annie Morton, and Lita Roseberry.

Lunch was ordered, served, and eaten prior to the business meeting.

Announcements – Cheryl

Cheryl presented two Snowmen figures as a parting gift to Laura Derr who has been our librarian for 11 years. She is going on to pursue other interests in 2026. Kit Sexton will be taking over as chair of the Library Committee, working with Art Stewart and Wes Hibbard.

The January meeting will be on the 8th since the first Thursday is New Year’s Day.

Fairs and Festivals – Nancy

Watch for December emails about festivals. Let Nancy know immediately if you want to participate. When you commit, you must pay. If later you must cancel, it is your responsibility to find a replacement or forfeit the cost.

The Strawberry Festival in May fills up very quickly. It runs for two days, with set up the day before. It is in Dayton. They claim 50,000 people come. There are 135 vendors.

 

Program

Cheryl made a brief presentation using an excerpt from her book Wigged Out! related to the Christmas season.
