Chuck Roseberry
Chuck Roseberry began his writing career at the age of fifteen when he sold an article to a local bi-weekly newspaper in his hometown of Beaverton, Oregon. He attended Chapman University in Southern California, played tennis, and worked as a sportswriter covering high school sports for The Orange County Register. Chuck transferred and graduated from the University of Oregon, where he worked on his first feature film his senior year. From there, he moved to Hollywood and made a career working in the art department of feature films, including the iconic movies Thelma and Louise, Wayne’s World, Weekend at Bernie’s, and one of the biggest box office bombs in cinematic history, Howard the Duck.
When Chuck was given the opportunity to direct a commercial in the late 1990s, he turned that lucky break into a twenty-plus-year career as a director, producer, and writer for commercials, TV shows, and documentaries for major networks, cable outlets, and PBS. He is a three-time NCCB Emmy Award winner as a writer/producer. He also had his movie project, Field of Faith, optioned by Dick Cook Studios. However, ten years later, he’s still waiting for the studio to make it.
Many of his media projects are sports-related, evident in his first fiction novel, The Right Date. He’s worked with high-profile athletes Tiger Woods, Venus and Serna Williams, Shaquille O’Neal, and Arnold Palmer, to name a few. However, his book reflects his love for high school sports and movies like Varsity Blues, The Kissing Booth, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Chuck hopes he can capture a young adult audience, but he’s also looking for readers who want to relive their high school days as the book takes place in the 1970s.
