AGT meeting, June 22, 2019
The Authors Guild of Tennessee met on June 22, 2019 at Mimi’s Cafe, Farragut, Tennessee. The meeting was called to order by President Cheryl Peyton at8:00 p.m.
The following members were present: Cheryl Peyton, Laura Derr, Tilmer Wright, Jim Hartsell, Donna Habib, David Curran, Jerry Morton, Don Pardue, Sam Bledsoe, Arthur Stewart, Danielle Asher, B.J. Gillum, Sharon Higa, Eva Wike, Linda Shepherd, Russ Fine, Jon B. Dalvy, Jared Jackson, Randall Carpenter, Linda Fitzpatrick, Bobbi Chapman,
Guests present were: Margie Hagen from Farragut Shopper; Charlene Bledsoe, Anna Morton, Sonja DuBois, Monty Ross, Arlene Robinson, Suzi Ghezawi, Jim Wike, Sherry Fine, Nan Klee, Elizabeth Horton, Kathy Braggy, Brandee Dalvy.
May minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s report was given by Randall Carpenter. The opening balance at beginning of May was $1,524.98. The closing balance at end of May was $1,472.80. Send any checks to Randall Carpenter made out to Authors Guild of TN. The treasurer’s report was approved.
Brief updates from the following Committee Chairs:
Marketing/Website/Training Sam Bledsoe reminded us to save Friday, November 1, on our calendars. It is National Authors Day, and the Authors Guild will hold a special event with the Union Avenue Bookstore. This will be a big event with good publicity and we all need to plan to participate.
Program Committee. Sharon Higa announced she has meeting programs through October. The program for July 11 meeting will be given by David Shoulders of Union Avenue Bookstore. Sharon still needs programs for November and December.
Program: Jon Dalvy, author of The Ballad of Titha Mae, gave an excellent power point presentation on fantasy novel writing and marketing. Jon will send an email to the membership with his presentation.
The meeting was adjourned at: 8:45 p.m. The next meeting is Thursday, July 11 at Faith Lutheran Church. Library loans will be available. Come at 10:30 to visit. Meeting begins at 11:00 a.m.
