September Meeting of the Authors Guild of Tennessee
The Authors Guild will meet next Thursday, September 3rd, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Farragut from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Our special speaker will be AGT member Wes Hibbert. His topic will focus on Native Americans, a subject he’s studied over the years and teaches at Roane State College in Oak Ridge. His talk will include Native American traits and accomplishments, as well as how they’ve been treated by other Americans, beginning with the new flood of settlers in the early 19th century. Wes considers the history of Native Americans to be “forgotten history,” as it is not often included in the regular curriculum in our public schools.
Wes has written a children’s book titled Buffy in Bethlehem (Buffy is pictured above).
