Authors Guild of Tennessee August Meeting

The Authors Guild will be holding their regular monthly meeting this Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Farragut. Social time and book exchange will begin at 10:30 with the business meeting starting at 11:00.

Our special speaker will be Bobbi Chapman, AGT member, and author of five books. Bobbi will share with us her tips on how she has been successful at marketing.

She grew up in Darien, Connecticut, joining the airline industry as a flight attendant with World Airways after attending college and secretarial school.

In 1967 she traveled solo around the world and returned to complete her education at the University of California, Berkeley. After working as a photographer and copywriter for a few years, she started the Angler’s Calendar and Catalog Company in 1975. The calendars sold to thirty foreign countries and her business won Exporter of the Year for the State of Idaho (1993 small company category).

Her first book was her memoir titled, Behind the Smile, about her experiences with World Airlines. She has written four other memoirs and is working on her fifth book. Her writing has been honored with several national awards.

I encourage everyone to attend to learn some better ways to market your books.  Visitors are welcome.*
