Old Oak Festival 2017

On April 21 - 23, the Old Oak Festival will be held on the campus of Tusculum College in Greeneville. The hours are noon to 6:00 on Friday, 9:00 to 6:00 on Saturday, and 1:00 to 6:00 on Sunday. Other details at http://web.tusculum.edu/oldoakfestival/

I'll be on Authors' Row with my books, including "Matching Scars", my newest; there are also arts, crafts, music, and food. It's my first time at this festival, so I'm looking forward to a new experience.

That sounds like an ideal setting to sell your novels featuring teenagers and young adults. Edward from ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS might stroll by looking for a new tutoring job.

Ha! I was able to give you five stars. I would say that you're exactly right that a hero must be flawed to be interesting and to create the tension in the story. The reader gets pulled into the conflict and roots for the protagonist to find a clever...

I guess all charterers should be dynamic as opposed to static. Each character should be memorable regardless of their standing in the cast. You only have to live in or visit a big city to know even the guy selling newspapers or the shoeshine boy who ...

I agree, Wayne! Someone at LinkedIn started a discussion on whether secondary characters had to be dynamic and this runs parallel, sort of. Imperfections are what make up the character and what engages a reader, be the character main or secondary. I...

I just tried the rating and inadvertently gave myself 5 stars. Maybe I'm the guest. I'm also the member who had to moderate your comment and I'm giving it 5 stars while I'm at it. Looking forward to your take on the stumbling protagonist.
